Basketball Recap: Madill Wildcats vs. Dickson Comets
The Madill Wildcats waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They breezed by Dickson on the road to the tune of 68-38. With Madill ahead 38-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Madill was led to victory by Brylan James and Ethan Wilkerson. James scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals, while Wilkerson dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Jd Runyan was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Madill's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Dickson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madill will square off against the Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Riverside Indian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Wildcats are ranked 15th). As for Dickson, they will head out on the road to square off against the Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
