Baseball Game Preview: Bullitt East Chargers vs. Whitefield Academy Wildcats

Bullitt East is a perfect 10-0 against Whitefield Academy since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chargers will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Whitefield Academy will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Bullitt East extended their winning streak to three on Monday. Everything went the Chargers' way against Holy Cross as they made off with a 13-2 victory.

Cooper Warnecke looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bullitt East got a massive performance out of Chase Meredith, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Meredith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brenden Lewis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Whitefield Academy hadn't done well against Fern Creek recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 16-6 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Braden Schwartz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Wallitsch, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Bullitt East's victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1. As for Whitefield Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything went Bullitt East's way against Whitefield Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Bullitt East made off with a 21-0 victory. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
