Soccer Game Preview: St. Paul vs. Paraclete

The St. Paul Swordsmen will face off against the Paraclete Spirits at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, St. Paul turned things around against Verbum Dei Jesuit on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Swordsmen's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Paraclete fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Bishop Montgomery on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-4.

St. Paul's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7-1. As for Paraclete, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
