Basketball Recap: Knox City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crowell last Friday, Knox City came back down to earth. The Knox City Greyhounds lost 67-44 to the Munday Moguls on Tuesday. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Moguls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

It was another big night for Jariyis Williams, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards for Munday. That's the most points Williams has posted since back in February of 2024. Mance Phillips was another key player, going 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Knox City's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-11. As for Munday, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.

Knox City will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Harrold at 7:15 p.m. As for Munday, they will head out to square off against Chillicothe at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
