Baseball Recap: Shadow Ridge Drops Season-High Score on Durango

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shadow Ridge). They put the hurt on the Durango Trailblazers with a sharp 13-3 victory on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Spencer Walters tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brayden Leavitt was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Noble, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Shadow Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.

Shadow Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Durango, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Shadow Ridge will square off against Las Vegas at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Durango, they will venture away from home to square off against Sierra Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
