Baseball Preview: South El Monte Eagles vs. Rosemead Panthers

The South El Monte Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Rosemead Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South El Monte will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Monday, South El Monte needed a bit of extra time to put away Marshall. They had just enough and edged out Marshall 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win South El Monte has posted since May 14, 2024.

Christian Ortega made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
