Softball Recap: Brooks Lions vs. Austin Black Bears
Brooks extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They came up short against the Austin Black Bears, falling 14-0. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

For Austin's part, Marissa Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Adams has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arden Breedlove, who fired off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Liann Sanchez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.
Coming up, Brooks will take on Florence in a tournament on Friday.
