Charleston hadn't done well against Effingham recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Trojans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hearts, sneaking past 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Hearts on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-8 defeat.

Charleston is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Effingham, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Charleston will welcome Casey-Westfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Effingham, they will square off against Flora at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
