Baseball Game Preview: Rincon/University Rangers vs. Sunnyside Blue Devils

Rincon/University is 1-9 against Sunnyside since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rangers will look to defend their home field against the Blue Devils at 3:45 p.m.

Rincon/University is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Monday. They lost 10-0 to Tucson High Magnet School.

Meanwhile, Sunnyside came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Tigers.

Sunnyside's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rincon/University, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
