Softball Recap: Nogales Comes Up Short

Nogales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 16-1 to the Cienega Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Apaches of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Nogales' loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Cienega, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Cienega is taking a road trip to face off against Tucson High Magnet School at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Badgers have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. Nogales will be paying especially close attention to Cienega's game: after Cienega faces off against Tucson High Magnet School, they'll take on Nogales again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
