Basketball Recap: Park Place Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Park Place Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Leake Academy Rebels, falling 59-24. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Rebels are ranked third).

Leake Academy found their leader in sophomore Sarah Prince, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals. That's the most steals Prince has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Marleigh Myers, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 11 points.

Park Place Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Leake Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 24-0.

Park Place Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge East Rankin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leake Academy, they will host Winston Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leake Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
