Softball Recap: Calvin Christian Comes Up Short

Calvin Christian had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-10-1 to make it seven. They lost 19-10 to the Catholic Central Cougars. That's two games in a row now that the Squires have lost by exactly nine runs.

As for Catholic Central, the win keeps they at an undefeated 21-0-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

For Catholic Central's part, A Owen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Owen a new career-high. J Buchanan was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvin Christian will head out to square off against Kelloggsville at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Catholic Central, they will take on Forest Hills Central at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
