Basketball Recap: Griffith Finds Playoff Glory Versus Calumet New Tech

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Griffith had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Calumet New Tech Warriors, posting a 57-16 win. That looming 57-16 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Griffith got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Von Ogden out in front who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and five steals. Von Ogden's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maddy Ladendorf, who went 6 for 15 en route to 16 points.

The win snapped Griffith's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-12 record. As for Calumet New Tech, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Griffith Panthers duke it out with the East Chicago Central Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Griffith is facing East Chicago Central at the right time seeing as East Chicago Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Calumet New Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
