Basketball Recap: Parkdale Panthers vs. Calvert Cavaliers

Parkdale unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calvert Cavaliers on Monday.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Edmond, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Zhang, who put up eight points.

Calvert got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Mockabee out in front who had 15 points. Joey Rodenhaver was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Calvert has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Parkdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-29 loss against Southern on the 9th. As for Calvert, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-41 defeat against Huntingtown on the 10th.
