Basketball Recap: Ronald (RJ) Barnett Jr Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Luke's Episcopal

Robertsdale won the last time they faced St. Luke's Episcopal and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Bears came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 51-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Bears.

Robertsdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ronald (RJ) Barnett Jr out in front who posted 16 points and six rebounds. Barnett Jr's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Kyron Williams was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and three steals.

Robertsdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why St. Luke's Episcopal lost, don't look at Henry Thompson. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-14 en route to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 53.8% of the Wildcats' points, marking the third time in a row Thompson has scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Robertson, who had six points and nine boards.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Robertsdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-58 victory against St. Martin on the 20th. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-39 defeat against Satsuma on the 20th.
