Volleyball Recap: St. Croix Falls Extends Winning Streak to Eight

With a playoff win on the line, St. Croix Falls rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Osceola Chieftains by a score of 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Saints, who have now won eight matchups in a row.

St. Croix Falls got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 38-40, 25-17.

Britta Olson paced St. Croix Falls' offense, picking up 23 kills. Olson got some help from Catherine Williams and her 41 assists. Lucy Braund controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Osceola had strong showings from Beth Viebrock, who had 21 digs and four assists, and Jaci Irlbeck, who had nine digs and one block. Viebrock has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

St. Croix Falls' victory bumped their record up to 24-11. As for Osceola, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 21-19.

As of now, neither St. Croix Falls nor the Chieftains have any future games scheduled.
