Baseball Recap: Bethlehem Catholic's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Bethlehem Catholic let Lansdale Catholic stack five runs on them in the first inning on Monday but luckily Bethlehem Catholic prevailed anyway. The Hawks walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Crusaders. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Caden Deegan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Bethlehem Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Joey Richards, who got four hits from his four at bats.

Bethlehem Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Lansdale Catholic, their record now sits at 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethlehem Catholic will take on North Pocono at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lansdale Catholic, they will challenge Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
