Baseball Recap: Lake Stevens Triumphs

Lake Stevens lost to Shorewood back in March of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Vikings came out on top against the Stormrays by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Blake Moser made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other pitching news, Emmitt Linehan tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

Moser wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cayden DeElena, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

The victory got Lake Stevens back to even at 1-1. As for Shorewood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Lake Stevens will take on Kamiak at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Kamiak Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Shorewood, they will face off against Lynnwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.75 runs per game on average), something the Stormrays will no doubt try to take advantage of.
