Basketball Recap: Addy Silcox Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Aucilla Christian

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Port St. Joe walked away with it. They strolled past the Aucilla Christian Warriors with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 34-18. For the Tiger Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 49-16 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Port St. Joe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addy Silcox, who posted eight points along with eight boards and three steals. Silcox is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayla Hill, who had ten points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Despite the defeat, Aucilla Christian had strong showings from Avery Emerick, who earned seven points and ten boards, and Lexie Eades, who scored two points and five steals. Eades has become a key player for Aucilla Christian: the team is 5-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 5-8 otherwise.

Port St. Joe is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Aucilla Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Port St. Joe has already played their next matchup, a 44-39 defeat against Franklin County on the 8th. Aucilla Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
