Softball Game Preview: Knox Redskins vs. Tippecanoe Valley Vikings

The Knox Redskins will square off against the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knox has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Knox lost 13-3 to Westville on Monday.

Addison Sponaugle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Phelan Wright also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Tippecanoe Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Jimtown on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tippecanoe Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackaylie Costello, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Knox has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Tippecanoe Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Knox hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. It's a different story for Tippecanoe Valley, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Knox's hitters?

Knox came out on top in a nail-biter against Tippecanoe Valley in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
