Baseball Recap: Shaker Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Shaker proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Mechanicville Red Raiders. The victory was familiar territory for the Bison, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Brendan McLoughlin was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Conroy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Shaker's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mechanicville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Coming up, Shaker will challenge Christian Brothers Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mechanicville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
