Football Game Preview: Axtell Wildcats vs. Kenesaw Blue Devils

The Axtell Wildcats will head out to face off against the Kenesaw Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Axtell comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Axtell is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They had to suffer through a 72-28 loss at the hands of Wilcox-Hildreth. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-14.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kenesaw, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Franklin by a score of 38-28 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Flyers: they've now won six in a row.

Axtell better keep an eye on Adam Denkert. He was instrumental in Kenesaw's win, rushing for 205 yards and three TDs. With that strong performance, Denkert is now averaging an impressive 124.5 rushing yards per game.

Kenesaw was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only rushed for 127.

Kenesaw's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Axtell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Axtell took their win against Kenesaw in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 52-32 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
