Softball Game Preview: Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls vs. Cincinnati Christian Cougars

The Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls will challenge the Cincinnati Christian Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Healthy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Mt. Healthy came up short against Mariemont on Tuesday, falling 17-5.

Amy Bell was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with four stolen bases. Adrianna Robinson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cincinnati Christian challenged Williamsburg on Saturday. The Cougars lost 14-0 to the Wildcats. The Cougars have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Cincinnati Christian now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mt. Healthy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mt. Healthy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cincinnati Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Mt. Healthy suffered a grim 17-4 defeat to Cincinnati Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Fighting Owls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
