Baseball Preview: The Academy Wildcats vs. Jefferson Academy Jaguars

For the second straight game, The Academy will face off against Jefferson Academy. The Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The Academy barely beat Jefferson Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Jaguars on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Dylan Akers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
