Our Lady of Mount Carmel waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over the Gilman Greyhounds. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Greyhounds are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Gilman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Our Lady of Mount Carmel will head out to face off against McDonogh at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
