Baseball Recap: Coxsackie-Athens Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coxsackie-Athens can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mechanicville Red Raiders by a score of 6-5 on Saturday.

Andrew Sager made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Timothy Shutter was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Coxsackie-Athens' loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Mechanicville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Coxsackie-Athens nor Mechanicville have any future games scheduled.
