Soccer Game Preview: Terrell Academy vs. Brookwood

The Terrell Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Brookwood Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Terrell Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.

Terrell Academy will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Valwood, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles put the hurt on the Valiants with a sharp 5-1 victory on Tuesday. Terrell Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Brookwood hadn't done well against Deerfield-Windsor recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Brookwood were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Dylan Simmons, who's now up to two this season.

Brookwood's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Terrell Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Terrell Academy skirted past Brookwood 3-2 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
