Football Recap: Banks County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Banks County extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They took a blow against the Athens Academy Spartans, falling 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Spartans are ranked 124th).

As for Athens Academy, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points on average over those games.

A big part of Athens Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Chap Chapman and his top target Keyon Standifer. Chapman threw for 141 yards and one TD while completing 88.9% of his passes while Standifer picked up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown. What's more, Chapman racked up 165.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.
