Football Recap: Hondo Starts Season with Victory Against Blanco

Hondo had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 20-13 victory over the Blanco Panthers. The score was all tied up 13-13 at the break, but the Owls were the (much) better team in the second half.

Kolten Alvarez was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 121 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 93 yards and one touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards.

Despite the loss, Blanco still got an impressive performance from Diego Soto, who rushed for 134 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Hondo has already played their next matchup, a 50-22 win against Carrizo Springs on the 5th. As for Blanco, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 63-7 victory against Randolph on the 5th.
