Baseball Recap: Canyon Springs Comes Up Short

Canyon Springs lost against Hillcrest last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Trojans, falling 20-4.

Canyon Springs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Sierras, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Canyon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Hillcrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon Springs will venture away from home to square off against Rancho Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Hillcrest, they will head out on the road to challenge Rancho Verde at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
