Softball Game Preview: Casey-Westfield Warriors vs. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg

Casey-Westfield is 7-2 against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warriors will challenge Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Casey-Westfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Farina South Central get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Warriors are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight.

Not much got past Ava Goble, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Farina South Central off the board. Goble has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tristan Ring, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Anna Karras was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg won against Altamont on Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg blew past Edwards County 8-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.

Casey-Westfield pushed their record up to 32-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, their win bumped their record up to 26-6.
