Baseball Recap: Economedes Takes a Loss

Economedes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-1 to the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars.

Josiah Villareal spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

Economedes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Floresville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Economedes has already played their next matchup, an 8-4 loss against United South on the 7th. As for Floresville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Vela on the 7th.
