Mater Academy East Las Vegas had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Bonanza Bengals 76-42. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won 15 contests in a row dating back to last season.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damari Sawall, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 17 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. Benjamin Brown was another key player, putting up 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mater Academy East Las Vegas will challenge Desert Pines at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bonanza, they will face off against Amplus Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
