If Academy of International Studies was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Weaver on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons fell just short of the Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Dragons' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Academy of International Studies sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-10.

Sirenity Johnson paced Academy of International Studies' offense, picking up 13 kills. Johnson got some help from Lisa Weinberg and her 16 assists. Weinberg was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chantel Ramos, who had 11 digs and four aces. Those 11 digs gave Ramos a new career-high.

Academy of International Studies' loss dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.
