Soccer Game Preview: Amphitheater vs. Cholla

The Amphitheater Panthers will head out to face off against the Cholla Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Amphitheater's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Amphitheater fell victim to Douglas and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Cholla also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Sahuarita on Wednesday, falling 8-0. Cholla haven't had much luck with Sahuarita recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Cholla's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Amphitheater, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went Amphitheater's way against Cholla when the teams last played back in January of 2025, as Amphitheater made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
