Basketball Recap: Jackson Center Takes a Loss

Jackson Center has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Loramie Redskins. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Redskins since December 3, 2021.

Fort Loramie can attribute much of their success to Maxwell Maurer, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Gasson, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Jackson Center's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Fort Loramie, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson Center and New Bremen will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Jackson Center is facing New Bremen at the right time seeing as New Bremen is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fort Loramie, they will head out on the road to challenge Russia at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. Russia will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something Fort Loramie surely won't give up without a fight.
