Softball Recap: Seymour Has No Trouble Against Kennedy

Seymour never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Kennedy Eagles 15-0. Considering the Wildcats have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cassidy Marcinczyk looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Daphne Shea, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Raucci, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Seymour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Seymour's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Kennedy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will square off against Rocky Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kennedy, they will face off against St. Paul Catholic at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 12.8 runs per game this season.
