Volleyball Recap: Alta's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woods Cross, Alta was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Viewmont Vikings. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Alta got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 21-25, 30-28, 25-23.

Catherine Brinkman paced Alta's offense, picking up 18 kills. Brinkman got some help from Ava Morgan and her 36 assists. Brinkman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Alta's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-8. As for Viewmont, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Alta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Ogden on the 19th. As for Viewmont, they will face off against Olympus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
