The Sylmar Spartans will face off against the North Hollywood Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Sylmar is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Panorama with a sharp 56-31 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Tim Tanner Jr had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 337 yards and six TDs while completing 90.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 63 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 31 passing touchdowns on the season. 92 of Tanner Jr's passing yards were hauled in by Elizeo Reyes, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led North Hollywood over Fulton in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Huskies blew the Jaguars out of the water with a 66-12 final score. The Huskies pushed the score to 58-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had no chance of recovering from.
Sylmar better keep an eye on GAVEN ZAMORA. He was instrumental in North Hollywood's win, rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Another passer making a difference was LOGAN GRANT, who threw for 144 yards and three TDs on only six passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Hollywood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 219 rushing yards in nine consecutive matchups.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Hollywood's defense and their four sacks. PAUL PENNSON was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is becoming a predictor of North Hollywood's success: when he posts at least two sacks the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). MICHAEL BARRIENTOS got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Sylmar's record now sits at 6-4. As for North Hollywood, their record is now 7-3.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Sylmar has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 381.3 total yards per game. However, it's not like North Hollywood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 403.4 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
