After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paradise Valley, West Point was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Westview Knights 43-26. The Dragons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of West Point's victory came down to the chemistry between Richard Valdez and his top target Marcus Plott. Valdez threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns while Plott picked up 64 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Isaiah Smith helped Valdez out on the ground, rushing for 69 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

West Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaac Contreras-Hernandez and Vincent Deleon.

When it comes to explaining why Westview lost, don't look at Nathan Franklin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. That's the most rushing yards Franklin has posted since back in October of 2023. Trysten Fierro also helped out with an impressive 114 receiving yards.

West Point's record is now 2-8. As for Westview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
