Vista del Lago extended the longest winning streak in Sierra Valley this week by beating Liberty Ranch, 63-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Eagles.
River City moved up to 556 from 616 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders were able to make the jump by beating El Dorado 47-8.
Vista del Lago's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Jimison threw for 419 and five touchdowns and Brad Rittenhouse had 240 yards receiving. On the ground Josh Pfeffer chipped in 82 yards. Chris Cooper helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching two balls for 88 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Jimison and Pfeffer Chris Jones's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Jimison leads the league in passing with 792 yards, while Pfeffer has rushed for 429 yards this season. The Cougars' Clayton Van Duyn leads the league in receiving yards with 386 on 31 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on River City. Vista del Lago is in first place, while Steve DaPrato's team is in fourth place.
