Basketball Recap: Wisdom Comes Up Short

Wisdom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 46-22 to the Heights Bulldogs. The Generals were down 39-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Heights was led to victory by Mira Johnson and Jazmyne Gilbert. Johnson went 8 of 19 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Gilbert posted 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Heights' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Syphard, who put up no points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Wisdom's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Heights, their record is now 9-13.

Wisdom will venture away from home to face off against Lamar at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Heights, they will host Cesar E. Chavez at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
