Baseball Recap: St. Dominic Extends Winning Streak to Two

St. Dominic won against Kirkwood last Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Crusaders beat the Westminster Christian Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Henry Molitor tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Dominic got a big performance out of Chase Hoff, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Hoff a new career-high. Anthony Flamm Jr. was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

St. Dominic's record now sits at 8-4-1. As for Westminster Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, St. Dominic will venture away from home to take on Liberty at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster Christian, they will host Rockwood Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
