Baseball Recap: Laurel's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Laurel was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of New Brighton last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Laurel fell just short of New Brighton by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 10-3.

Laurel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luca Santini, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Laurel's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for New Brighton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel will welcome Wilmington at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for New Brighton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as New Brighton Lions face off against Beaver Falls Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
