Volleyball Game Preview: Layton Lancers vs. Syracuse Titans

Layton is 0-3 against Syracuse since April of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Titans at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Layton is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Weber.

Layton actually scored more points across those five sets (113-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 29-27, 26-24, 19-25, 19-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Syracuse faced Davis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Titans came up short against the Darts, falling 3-0. The Titans' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.

Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Layton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
