Basketball Game Preview: Chestnut Ridge Lions vs. Richland Rams

The Chestnut Ridge Lions will take on the Richland Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Chestnut Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Richland likes a good challenge.

Chestnut Ridge is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Bedford: they outscored them in every quarter. Chestnut Ridge came out on top against Bedford by a score of 69-56 on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bisons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Richland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Somerset with a sharp 75-52 victory on Friday. With the Rams ahead 47-25 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Chestnut Ridge's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.6 points over those games. As for Richland, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12.

Chestnut Ridge strolled past Richland when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 72-56. Will Chestnut Ridge repeat their success, or does Richland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
