Olympic proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 28) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls 16-13. The victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Olympic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Nixon, who rushed for 156 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Nixon's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 156 rushing yards. Chance Cato was another key player, rushing for 57 yards on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Olympic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Although Hickory Ridge took the loss, they still got scores from Kellan Goins and Colton Laskowski.

Olympic's record is now 8-2. As for Hickory Ridge, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Olympic will challenge Ragsdale at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. Hickory Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
