Basketball Recap: Jamestown Comes Up Short

Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Lafayette Rams and fell 61-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-14 back in December of 2024.

Lafayette's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarah Lynch, who posted 20 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lynch a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was MaKayla Keys, who had eight points in addition to nine assists and three steals.

Jamestown's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Lafayette, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Jamestown will head out on the road to face off against Warhill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warhill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Lafayette, they will be playing at home against York at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
