Basketball Game Preview: Pryor Tigers vs. Memorial Chargers

The Pryor Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Memorial Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pryor is headed into the match having just posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-25 win over Edison. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Eagles are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Memorial hadn't done well against McAlester recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Memorial came out on top against McAlester by a score of 57-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Memorial's win came from a few key players Pryor will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mataya Hall, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 26 points and three steals. Her evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Jayelynn Doan was another key player, going 7 of 16 en route to 19 points and four steals.

Memorial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Pryor, their record now sits at 7-4.

Pryor strolled past Memorial in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 45-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pryor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
