Volleyball Game Preview: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Poway Titans

The Del Norte Nighthawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Poway Titans at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Norte is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Del Norte didn't have quite enough to beat Cathedral Catholic and fell 3-2.

Del Norte actually scored more points across those five sets (109-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-24, 16-25, 25-22, 26-28, 15-10.

Del Norte might have lost, but man, Brandon So was a machine: he had 20 digs and three assists. Those 20 digs gave So a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Del Norte was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Poway, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Otay Ranch by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Poway was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 25-15.

Poway pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
